Olunga scores for Girona in Figueres Centenary friendly
Micheal Olunga scored the opener for Girona in a friendly match to celebrate US Figueres' hundred years of existence

Kenyan international Micheal Olunga was in hot form on Tuesday night after leading Girona’s 6-0 rout of UE Figueres in a friendly match at Estadio Municipal de Vilatenim, Spain.
In a makeshift Girona side, Olunga was handed a starting role upfront against the fourth level league side in Spain (Tercera Division ) UE Figueres and did not disappoint.
His first attempt at goal was in the 13th minute but UE Figueres custodian David Aroca denied him.
In the 16th minute, Olunga netted the opener after rising high to connect to Pedro Porro cross then headed the ball into the net.
In the 27th minute Olunga set up Brazilian Douglas Luiz but the latter squandered the chance.
Douglas Luiz and Aleix García and Olunga combined well to feed Choco Lozano who scored the second goal for Girona in the 34th minute
Olunga lasted for 45 minutes before paving way for Cameroonian Kévin Soni. In the second half a hat trick from Kévin Soni and another goal from Aday Benítez ended a good night for Girona.
The friendly match played at the Vilatenim Stadium, served to start the centenary celebrations for Unió Esportiva Figueres.
On Saturday last week, the 26-year-old Kenyan international Micheal Olunga joined the action in the 84th minute after coming on for the red-hot Cristhian Stuani in what could be his last La Liga match for the Catalan club.
Olunga joined the Spanish La Liga on 1st September 2017 and after a one season loan at Girona, he could be back at Chinese Super League side Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng FC not unless Spanish club renegotiates the deal.
In his debut La Liga season, Olunga clocked 426 minutes from fourteen appearances, four starts and ten as a substitute. He scored three goals in the La Liga.
Olunga will miss Harambee Stars upcoming friendlies against Swaziland and Equatorial Guinea at Machakos.
