Oktay! We have a coach! Gor confirm new boss

Gor Mahia have completed talks with Hassan Oktay and the Turkish-Cypriot has finally penned a two year contract that will keep whim with the 17-time Kenyan Premier League champions until December 2020.

Oktay has been in the country over the last 10 days and was initially set for an ‘internship’ period, but he has since been confirmed with the club confirming on their official website that he has penned a deal.

He replaces Briton Dylan Kerr who resigned from the club to take over at South African club Black Leopards.

Oktay arrived in the country and watched Gor’s 1-0 loss to Kariobangi Sharks in the Super Cup from the stands but took charge on the touchline when the team travelled to Malawi to take on Nyasa Big Bullets in the return leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The tactician was also present on Saturday as Gor began their league title defense with a 2-1 loss away to Bandari in Mombasa.

The tactician has his work cut out especially with the champions having started their season on a low.
