This announcement puts to rest speculations that Odemba had resigned, with reports suggesting she met with FKF President on Monday and confirmed her commitment to continue leading the Starlets

Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has announced a 23-player squad for the CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship, set to take place from June 12 to June 22, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

This announcement puts to rest speculations that Odemba had resigned, with reports suggesting she met with Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed on Monday and confirmed her commitment to continue leading the Starlets during their meeting.

The squad includes first-time call-ups for Kibera Soccer Women’s midfielder Medina Abubakar Hussein and Vihiga Queens’ forward Swaum Nanjaka Masungo. Captain Dorcas Shikobe returns to the team while notable names missing include; Jentrix Shikangwa of Simba, Lydia Akoth of Yanga and Cynthia Shilwatso of Besiktas.

The Starlets reported to camp yesterday evening and departed for Tanzania today morning. The team will use the regional tournament to test their strengths in readiness for the WAFCON qualifier against Gambia.
