The Nyayo National Stadium has received the greenlight to host the CAF Confederations Cup playoff return fixture between Gor Mahia and Congo’s Otoho d’ Oyo on 5 December 2021.

A communication from Sporting Director Lordvick Aduda on the club’s social media handles posted on Tuesday evening read, “CAF approved our request to temporarily use Nyayo Stadium for CAF matches. We are now working on fulfilling the requirements to enable us get clearance for fans to attend our match against Otoho d'Oyo of Congo next month. This is a reprieve for the record Kenyan champions who would have been forced to play this fixture outside the country.

Gor Mahia received a bye to the second round of the competition, defeating Sudan’s Al Ahly Merowe 3-1 in the first leg in Suez City, Egypt before the Sudanese side were a no show for the return leg in Nairobi.
