Tusker picked up their 11th win of the season on Sunday, beating KCB 2-0 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with Njuguna putting up a man-of-the-match performance

Tusker midfielder John Njuguna says the team has taken an approach of one game at a time, as the season gets into the home stretch, with 12 rounds of matches left.

Tusker picked up their 11th win of the season on Sunday, beating KCB 2-0 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with Njuguna putting up a man-of-the-match performance, assisting the first goal for Chris Erambo and scoring the second with a brilliant worldie.

The league might be proceeding on a brief break this weekend to pave the way for the Mozzart Bet Cup but that is not stopping the youthful midfielder from thinking of the next duel.

He says the team isn’t giving any attention to the twists and turns witnessed in the title race but rather is focusing on the next league encounter against Muhoroni Youth.

“As a team, this win is behind our backs. We are taking each match at a time and the target for us is to win all our remaining games. The focus now is on the next match and we see where that takes us,” Njuguna said.

Having scored his second goal of the season last weekend, Njuguna expressed his wish to build on the confidence derived from the game and add more goals.

“It definitely spurs my confidence and motivation. I have been working to improve on my scoring and slowly the fruits are bearing. I am glad I got another goal and I want to keep working to get more,” he said.

Tusker had one of the most difficult starts in the season but have since risen to the top three.

They trail log leaders Gor Mahia by ten points.

Njuguna said the team’s rise from the bottom half of the log to the top three is a result of the hard work.

“When someone gets a chance we all get behind him and support him as we keep working to wait on ours,” notes Njuguna.
