Nizigiyimana to be ready ‘in few days’ says Kerr
Gor Mahia’s Rwandese right back Karim Nizigiyimana might be ready to play for the club as soon as their match against Nakumatt FC next weekend, according to head coach Dylan Kerr. Nizigiyimana has been training for the past two months after being out for close to 16 months with injury.
“Karim has been training really well after his rehabilitation. We are observing him but I think we should be able to give him some minutes in the Nakumatt match. I am really excited to have him back,” the tactician said.
The only absentee through injury currently is midfielder Ernest Wendo who picked up a hamstring strain during the CECAFA Kagame Cup two weeks ago in Tanzania. The team has been boosted with the return of defender Wellington Ochieng who picked an ankle injury in February.
Ochieng came on as a substitute in the CAF game against Yanga and played the whole game in their midweek 3-1 win over Posta Rangers in the FKF Shield.
“I think I now have a big problem because every player is working hard in training and wants to play. It is a good problem for me because I know we have a strong team all round,” the coach noted.
Gor have left for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup return leg tie against Yanga on Sunday where they hope to replicate the same result they had last week beating the Tanzanians 4-0 in Nairobi.
