Neymar has missed two of Brazil’s group games against Switzerland and Cameroon. He was subbed off at the 80th minute in the first group game against Serbia
Brazil Head Coach, Tite, has confirmed that Neymar is available for selection ahead of Brazil’s Round of 16 tie against South Korea.
"Neymar will train today in the afternoon and if he trains well he will play," Tite said.
Neymar has missed two of Brazil’s group games against Switzerland and Cameroon. He was subbed off at the 80th minute in the first group game against Serbia after he sustained ligament damage.
Brazil topped Group G despite a 1-0 defeat by Cameroon in their last group game.
After it was confirmed that he had sustained an injury, Neymar told his fans that he would be back stronger than ever.
"Nothing in my life came easy and I've always had to work for my dreams and goals. I have never wished anyone anything bad and always helped who needed.
"I'm injured, yes it's not nice, it will hurt but I'm sure I will have the chance to come back because I'll do everything possible to help my country, my team-mates and myself,” he wrote on Instagram to his 189 million followers.
South Korea finished second in Group H after leaving it late with a defeat against Portugal in the last group game. It will be the first Knockout game for South Korea since 2010.
Brazil and South Korea have met eight times before but this will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two. In the previous meetings, Brazil have won all but one of the matches.
The winner of this match will go on to face the winner of the fixture between Croatia and Japan in the Quarter Finals.
