Musa Mohammed raring to go ahead of Algeria tie
Musa Mohammed ready for Riyad Mahrez challenge
Harambee Stars defender Musa Mohammed says he feels fit and is raring to go ahead of the team’s African Cup of Nations opening game against Algeria at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday night. Mohammed has returned to training this past week after a small injury scare and says he is ready to guide the team from the back.
“I feel really okay now. It was only a small muscle strain and the rest I had has really done me good and I feel strong and fit. The focus now is all on the opening game and I am ready for it,” stated the defender.
On the prospect of facing a tough Algerian attack line led by Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez, Mohammed says he is ready for the challenge.
“A good player is know by the kind of challenge he can withstand and this is a big challenge I am ready for. I know the qualities they have in attack but I am not scared. As a team we are ready and we will work hard to get good results,” the defender added.
He will be the most experienced feet in defense especially with Brian Mandela ruled out with injury. He says he is ready to do his best in the absence of his teammate and added they will be playing to win for their injured colleague.
