The quartet led by Nick Murrey stamped their authority at the Eldoret Club on Saturday, posting a commanding 104 points to top a competitive field of 122 golfers and secure their place in the KCB East Africa Golf tour’s grand finale set for December 5 at Karen Country Club.
Murrey, together with Silas Tanui, Lawi Kibi, and Philip Muigei, showed calm coordination on a course that challenged most of the field. Their balance and precision across the round kept them ahead of the chasing pack.
Speaking after the win, Murrey credited the result to grit and unity:
“We just came out to enjoy ourselves and back each other shot by shot. The course fought back, but our teamwork made the difference. Winning at home makes it feel even better,” he said.
Hot on their heels was the team of Elvis Kimeres, Kigen Limo, and Angeline Limo, who finished just one point behind on 103, making it one of the day’s tightest battles.
In the individual showdown, Caleb Tum put on a masterclass to claim Overall Winner with 42 points, showing consistency from tee to green. Livingstone Adema led the men’s category with 40 points, while Mary Kiptoo reigned supreme among the ladies after matching Tum’s 42-point effort.
Fans lining the fairways got their share of big moments too. Gilbert Koech unleashed the day’s biggest drive to win the men’s Longest Drive title, while Ruth Kandie powered her way to the ladies’ version. Koros Kiptoo walked away with Nearest to the Pin after a razor-sharp shot that left jaws dropping.
Among invited guests, Koech Cheruiyot topped the standings with 30 points. The staff category saw Prisca Chebet claim victory with 29 points, followed by Millicent Mello on 22.
