"In the past, I've had opportunities to turn professional, but I couldn't secure a release from my club,” she said.
New Lemesos signing and Malkia strikers’ assistant captain Noel Murambi made her debut for the Cyprus Division A volleyball side on Tuesday.
Murambi, 33, took part in a 3-1(25-15, 17-25, 25-23, 25-18) set win against Dikefalos Geriou.
In early November, the 33-year-old secured a season-long loan deal from her local team, Kenya Pipeline, and became the third Malkia Strikers player to secure an International move.
Speaking to Nation Sport after her move to Lemesos was secured, Murambi said that she was grateful to Kenya Pipeline because they did not delay her move.
"In the past, I've had opportunities to turn professional, but I couldn't secure a release from my club,” she said.
She thanked Paul Gitau, Kenya Pipeline coach, for helping facilitate the move.
“When this opportunity came up, I discussed it with my coach, Paul Gitau, and he was so positive,” she added.
Lemesos have currently won three games and lost three games in the league.
