Mulumba rallies charges ahead of Shield semi
Bandari FC skipper Felly Mulumba has rallied his teammates to give their all when they take on SS Assad in the semi-finals of the Football Kenya Federation Shield on Sunday at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Bandari who won the title in 2015 are looking on to win something this season with the league campaign seemingly set to bear no fruit for them with leaders Gor Mahia opening up a huge lead.
“This is our opportunity to win something and we want to take it with all our hearts. We have prepared well and I believe in my teammates, I believe in the work that we have put in and we will get victory,” Mulumba, himself a 2014 winner with Sofapaka stated.
Facing a third tier side, Mulumba says they cannot underrate them especially noting that it will be a derby of sorts, both teams coming from Mombasa.
‘We can’t underrate anyone because this is a Cup game and you never know what might happen. It is football and big teams are felled by small teams. We are taking this match very seriously and we ill ensure we win,”
“There is a chance of playing continental football next season and that is an extra motivation for us. Everyone wants to play at that big stage and be seen all over Africa,” he added.
Bandari progressed to the semis after seeing off Western Stima 4-1 in the quarter finals played in Mombasa.
