Muguna nears Gor return as Batambuze arrives
Kenneth Muguna is set for a return to Gor Mahia and will be joined by Ugandan left back Shafik Batambuze as the first two signings for the club, even before the transfer window is officially opened.
Muguna has been a free agent since leaving Albanian club KF Tirana where he had moved in the beginning of the year on the allure of his former coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira. He followed Musa Mohammed out with the former Gor Mahia captain having already secured a new club, Nkana FC in Zambia.
He becomes the third Kenyan player this year alone to leave Tirana after left back Erick Marcelo Ouma also left the club even before making a competitive appearance.
Batambuze returns to Kenya after leaving Tanzanian side Singida United barely a year after joining them. Singida splashed the cash to land the left back from Tusker in the beginning of the year . His arrival will be a welcome sigh for coach Dylan Kerr after the exit of Godfrey Walusimbi.
“We have already secured their release letters from Tirana and Singida respectively. What remains now is agreeing on the personal terms and the transfers will be official once the window is opened. These two are good additions to our club,” Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda said.
