Morocco defeat Wafalme as African Championship continues

Kenya, who had earlier defeated seven time champions Egypt 3-2 in their opening encounter on Wednesday, stunned the North Africans by winning the first set 25-19.

Morocco brought Kenya's Wafalme Stars back to earth with a 3-1 win at the CAVB Men's African Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda on Thursday 9 September 2021.
Kenya, who had earlier defeated seven time champions Egypt 3-2 in their opening encounter on Wednesday, stunned the North Africans by winning the first set 25-19.
The Moroccans would regroup, winning the consequent sets 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21 in what was a tight encounter as they sealed a berth in the last eight.
Up next for Kenya is a clash against neighbours Tanzania, with quarterfinal qualification at stake.
