Kenya Morans prospect Keegan Oyugi was found dead on Tuesday 29 June 2021 after a car crash in Savage, Minnesota, USA.  The 26 year old was reported missing on 12 June and his body was discovered in his badly damaged Ford Mustang. 

 The Minnetrista Police Department confirmed that a car found off Highway 101 in Savage belonged to Oyugi. They said that there was a deceased individual in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, and his description matches that of Oyugi, down to the clothing he was believed to be wearing when he went missing.

“As we await formal identification from the medical examiner’s office, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Oyugi family,” the police department said.

Born and raised in the USA, Oyugi played college basketball for Crown College. In 2019, played for Kenyan club side KPA, who finished that season in the National Classic Basketball. 

He also tunred out for the dockers in the BAL qualifiers and was in line to make his debut for the national team, the Kenya Morans at August's FIBA AfroBasket in Kigali, Rwanda where the team will be making its first apperance on the continental stage since 1993.
