Olunga scored in the 6-2 drubbing of Al Shamal by Al Duhail to take his club goal’s tally to 121, a feat that makes his the best goal poacher at the Qatar Sports League’s club.
This feat adds to a growing list of accolades for Olunga, who has consistently dominated as a goal-scoring machine in leagues across three continents. Since his arrival at Al Duhail in January 2021, Olunga has been unstoppable, winning the league's top scorer award in back-to-back seasons and leading his team to clinch the league title in the 2022-2023 season.
Olunga’s illustrious career began on Kenyan soil, where he honed his skills with Tusker FC and later Gor Mahia, quickly establishing himself as a force in the local league. His reputation as a formidable striker caught the attention of international clubs, leading to moves across Sweden, China, and Japan. Each stop in his career saw Olunga rise to the challenge, securing golden boots in Japan’s J1 League with Kashiwa Reysol in 2020, where he netted 28 goals in 32 games to become the league’s top scorer. His achievements underline a remarkable career path that has seen him shine in diverse footballing environments.
Joining Al Duhail marked another chapter in his career, and the Qatari league was no exception to his goal-scoring prowess.
