Mathare United Women woes continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Gor Mahia Queens  in the Women National Super League Zone A match played on Saturday at Makongeni grounds.

Mathare, who were looking for a win after falling to Bandari last week, appeared sharp in attack, creating several chances but failing to convert them. In the first half, forward Jerrine Adhiambo was unlucky, hitting the wood work twice.

In the early minutes of second half, Mathare had a penalty denied as Jerrine was visibly brought down in the box but the referee waved play on. Both teams struggled to break through each other’s defense and the game ending in a barren draw.

In other league encounters, GASPO continued their impressive run defeating Makolanders 2 – 0, with goals from Lucy Barasa and Victorian Okwomo. Bandari Queens triumphed 1 – 0 in the coast NSL derby over MTG, while Barcelona defeated Hildana Queens 2 – 1.

In the Women’s National Super League Zone B, Trans Nzoia Falcons drew 1 – 1 with Madira Soccer Assassins, Kakamega Starlets beat Kisii Queens 4 – 0, Gideon Starlets triumphed 2 – 1 over Gene Queens and Vickers Queens beat FC 105 2 – 0.
