Among the highlights of the new sponsorship is the introduction of individual cash awards for standout performers, alongside an enhanced prize structure for participating teams

A total of 64 teams have been drawn to participate in this year’s annual Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup, with Mathare United notably absent from the tournament. The competition has attracted 15 clubs from the top flight and 47 teams drawn from lower tiers across the country.

Other Premier League teams that are missing from this year's edition include Sofapaka and APS Bomet.

The knockout phase will kick off over the weekend of 7th and 8th February, as the league takes a short break to make way for the prestigious tournament. The eventual winner will earn the right to represent Kenya in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

This season’s edition receives a major boost following the arrival of a KSh 90 million sponsorship from Mozzart Bet. Under the deal, FKF will receive KSh 30 million annually over the next three years.

Speaking during the contract signing ceremony held in Nairobi earlier this week, FKF President Hussein Mohammed said the renewed partnership would significantly strengthen the competition while benefiting clubs nationwide.

“This partnership is not just about sponsorship; it is about building a stronger, more competitive and more credible football ecosystem in Kenya. The Mozzart Bet Cup has become a truly national competition that gives every club a fair chance, and this investment guarantees better organisation, improved visibility, and meaningful financial support for our teams,” Mohammed said.

Among the highlights of the new sponsorship is the introduction of individual cash awards for standout performers, alongside an enhanced prize structure for participating teams—further raising the tournament’s competitive appeal.

The launch event also featured the Round of 64 draw, officially setting the stage for the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup. First-round matches will be played on 7th and 8th February, with the final scheduled for 17th June 2026.
