Matano focuses on league title after cup exit

Tusker lead the league table with 38 points and will be out to consolidate this lead beyond 30 June as they also seek to earn Kenya's ticket to the 2021/22 CAF Champions League.

With his side knocked out of FKF Cup contention, Tusker boss Robert Matano has set his sights on wresting the FKF Premier League title from defending champions Gor Mahia. 

"The Lion" as Matano is popularly known spoke to the FKF Premier League's official website, saying, " 

 “We have been travelling a lot and playing so many matches. With the cup out of the way, we can now concentrate on winning the league. That is the only thing remaining for us and we want to give it our all and our best,” he said.

He admitted that the travel had taken a toll on his players and fatigue was beginning to affect them.

“Sometimes we have been playing four matches in a week and even fatigue had started setting in. Now we will have time to recover before our next match.
