Kenya vs Malawi friendly set for friendly on Tuesday
he Malawi national football team arrived in the country early Monday morning ahead of Tuesday’s friendly match against Kenya’s Harambee Stars. The Malawi team is expected to train at the Kasarani Stadium on Monday afternoon.
The Malawians arrived in Nairobi from Morocco where they lost to the hosts 3-0 in their African Cup of Nations Qualifier.
Meanwhile, Football Kenya Federation boss Nick Mwendwa has said they have reduced charges for the 3pm kick off tie with terrace tickets going for Sh100 and VIP tickets for Sh500.
“We want to say thanks to the fans who turned out in large numbers on Saturday and cheered us on against Ghana. They played a huge role in the result,” Mwendwa said.
He added; “This is our way of saying thanks to them by reducing the charges. We know it is a working day but still those who will be able to come should come and watch the team.”
Head coach Sebastien Migne is expected to make changes to his squad, giving rest to most who played against Ghana on Sunday as he looks to see other players in action. Midfielder Ismail Gonzalez did not train with the rest on Sunday and is expected to be rested.
Also unlikely to play against Malawi are Sweden based midfielders Ovellah Ochieng and Eric Johannah.
