Cynthia Jerotich and Eliud Magut stole the show at the third edition of the Nairobi City Marathon, held on Sunday, September 8th, along the vibrant streets of Nairobi. The city came alive as thousands of residents turned out to have fun and run for a cause, creating an electric atmosphere for the annual event.
More than 14,000 runners registered for the annual event, which featured a range of races, including the full 42-kilometer marathon, a 21-kilometer half marathon, a 10-kilometer race, and a 6-kilometer fun run.
Magut triumphed in the men’s 42-kilometer marathon with an impressive time of 2:09:47, edging out tough competition. Josphat Bett took second place, crossing the line in 2:10:01, while Emmanuel Sikuku followed closely in third with a time of 2:10:05.

A delighted Cynthia Jerotich, speaking after her victory, said, "It was a great course for me today—I really enjoyed it. There were a few hills and some downhill stretches, but overall, it was a good race. I’m thrilled to come out on top."
The half marathon saw Robert Kiprop and Marion Kibor celebrating their wins in the 21-kilometer race, adding to the excitement of the day.
With enthusiastic Nairobi residents turning up in their thousands , the Nairobi City Marathon once again proved to be a spectacular showcase of athletic prowess and community spirit.
