Up next for Morans is a clash against Nigeria at 4.00pm on Friday 27 August before concluding their pool games with a tie against Mali at 1.00pm on Sunday 29 August.

Kenya started their FIBA AfroBasket campaign on a losing note, going down 88-70 to Cote d'Ivoire in their Pool C opener in Kigali on Wednesday 25 August 2021.

It was a finely poised contest for three of the four quarters, Kenya's Morans giving as good as they got.

They trailed 26-24 at the end of the first quarter, before ralliyng in the second quarter, the 39-39 second just reward for Liz Mills charges. 

They continued to take the fight to the Ivoriens, trailing 60-54 at the close of the third quarter before being outscored 28-16 in the last quarter in their first AfroBasket fixture in 28 years.

Tyler Ongwae was Kenya's standout performer, managing 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.
