Losing start for Kenya at the Africa Cup of Nations

Kenya is placed in Group D that also includes Nigeria, Angola and Tunisia.

The Kenyan men’s national handball team opened their Africa cup championships  on a losing note after falling to Tunisia on match day one.

Tunisia proved too strong for the Kenyan lads who are returning to the championships after last participating in 2020 where they finished 15th.The match ended 18-59 in favor of Tunisia.

Kenya is placed in Group D that also includes Nigeria, Angola and Tunisia.

Kenya will next face Angola on 19th before their final group match against Nigeria with the top two teams expected to advance to the next round.

Defending champions Egypt are in Group B that also has Guinea, Cameroon and Congo.

Group A features Cape Verde, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia  and Rwanda.

The competition will serve as qualifiers with the top 5 nations earning a ticket to the world men’s handball championships in 2025.
