Victoria Reynolds poured in 17 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals while Christine Akinyi added 14 points and five rebounds with Mercy Wanyama grabbing ten rebounds, two blocks and eight points.

Kenya recovered from their 50-74 loss to hosts Cameroon in their FIBA Women's AfroBasket qualifier, rallying to beat Cape Verde 61-58 in a thriller a minute game in Yaounde on Sunday 19 September 2021.

Joseana Vaz was an all-around for Cape Verde, finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and  Ornela Livramento followed Vaz with 16 points.

The Lionesses await the outcome of the game between Cape Verde and host Cameroon on game Day-3 to know their final standing in Group A.
