Looking lost and lethargic, the Kenya Men’s Sevens National Team, Shujaa were absolutely smashed to smithereens by Australia in their opening fixture at the Seville Sevens, the fourth round of the Sevens World Series in Seville, Spain on Friday evening.

Innocent Simiyu’s side were never in it, trailing 21-0 at the break through converted tries from captain Harry Hutchinson who grabbed a brace and Maurice Longbottom. Dietrich Roach was successful with conversions.

The rain continued beating the less than heroic Shujaa who conceded three more converted tries after the interval.

Roach converted Corey Toole’s brace of tries before Longbottom converted Yool Yool’s try to complete the rout.

The defeat leaves Shujaa needing to win their remaining two Pool D fixtures against Canada and Scotland on Saturday if they harbor any intentions of making the cup quarterfinals.

Shujaa will play Canada at 10.45am EAT and Scotland at 4.13pm EAT on Saturday.
