Leopards head into Ulinzi territory minus 10 key players
The 12 time league champions are currently serving a transfer ban from FIFA
AFC Leopards will head into Saturday’s FKFPL opener away to Ulinzi Stars minus ten players whose registration has been rejected by Football Kenya Federation.
A communique from the club’s secretary general Gilbert Andugu reads, “We would like to inform you that due to unforeseen technicalities, we will be unable to field ten of our players in tomorrow’s FKF Premier League match against Ulinzi Stars FC. This is being addressed, and we expect them to play in the upcoming matches.”
The 12 time league champions are currently serving a transfer ban from FIFA and had gone to the extent of promoting several players from its youth team.
The transfer ban arose from unpaid dues owed to its former player Soter Kayumba.
The ten players who will miss action for Ingwe are youngsters Emmanuel Lwanga, Ronald Sichenje, Loren James, Victor Otieno, Aboubakar Musha, and Nester Olum as well as Cliff Nyakeya, Josphat Lopaga, Victor Omune, and Musa Oundo who were all acquired last season.
