AFC Leopards have punched their way to the quarterfinals of the Mozzart Bet Cup after edging Shabana 1-0 at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Assistant captain and centre back Kayci Odhiambo struck the match-winner in the second half, rising high to head home a free kick from Clifton Miheso.

The win, perfectly caps Ingwe at sixty birthday celebrations which have seen the club pocket tidy sums of money from the activities held to commemorate their sixth decade since inception.

Following the win, Leopards will take on Compel FC in the quaters of the tournament whose winner wins the ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup.

Compel eliminated National Super League side Mara Sugar in an earlier encounter played at the same venue.

Goals from Philip Simiyu and Donimic Buronya were enough to see the Webuye based club sail to the last eight.

The 2018 champions Kariobangi Sharks are also through to the quaters after beating Ulinzi Stars 2-1 at the Police Sacco Grounds.

Ulinzi had taken the lead through Issa Lumumba an ex-Sharks player early in the half but Sharks responded through Fortune Omoto moments to the breather.

Veteran striker John Makwata struck the winning goal for Sharks in the second half, sending his employer to the quaters and his former side out of the tournament.

Second tier side SS Assad are also through to the quarters after beating Denmak 5-4 on post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time.

Denmak made themselves a name in the round of 32 after dumping record league champions Gor Mahia out of the competition.
