Legendary boxing coach Mwarangu is dead

Former “Hit Squad” coach Peter Mwarangu is dead.
His death was confirmed by the Boxing Federation of Kenya on Monday who wrote on their social media handles, “The Boxing Federation of Kenya sends a message of sympathy and condolences to the family & friends of the late Coach Mwarangu. “

Mwarangu was behind some of Kenyan boxing’s proudest moments, including the 1987 All African Games in Nairobi where the team gathered eight gold medals, as well as the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul where Robert Wangila claimed a historic gold medal in the welterweight category as Chris Sande settled for bronze in the middleweight category.
