In another KWPL encounter in Kisumu, Kisumu All Starlets managed to hold on fire Catherine Khaemba and secured a point against Bungoma Queens.
The much-anticipated disciplined forces derby in the FKF Kenya Women Premier League ended in a 1–1 draw as Ulinzi Starlets came from behind to secure a point against Police Bullets FC at Ruaraka Grounds on Saturday morning.
Both teams entered the match unbeaten in their last five fixtures, making this Matchday 14 encounter a high-stakes battle. Police, sitting at the top of the table with only one loss since the season’s start, were determined to extend their lead in pursuit of a consecutive title. Meanwhile, Ulinzi’s Collins Ochieng’ aimed to continue the impressive form he’s displayed since taking over half way the first leg with his club almost at the relegation zone.
The first half saw little breakthrough as both sides managed to contain each other, and the match ended in a goalless draw at the break.
In the second half, Diana Wacera gave Police the lead in the 67th minute, but Ulinzi’s Fasila Adhiambo leveled the score with a spectacular free kick in the 76th minute, with the game ending 1–1. Police remain at the top of the table with 28 points, while Ulinzi have 23 points.
