KVF Reveals Applicants for Malkia Strikers Technical Roles

The Federation also stated that it remains committed to ensuring that the technical bench is equipped with experienced professionals to support the growth of volleyball in Kenya

The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) has announced the list of applicants who have submitted their applications for various positions within the technical bench for the Malkia Strikers, the national women's volleyball team. The application process closed on February 8, 2025, and those who have been shortlisted will be invited for interviews scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025.

The positions available include Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Physical Trainer, with a number of qualified and experienced individuals expressing their interest in joining the technical staff of the Malkia Strikers.

The Head Coach position has drawn a competitive group of applicants, each bringing extensive coaching experience. Among the applicants are:
- Geoffrey Omondi (FIVB Level 2) from KPC, specializing in senior women's volleyball.
- Japhet Munala (FIVB Level 2) from KCB, also with a focus on senior women’s volleyball.
- Catherine Mabwi (FIVB Level 3) from MF, with experience coaching at the college level.
- John Mwaniki (FIVB Level 2).
- Elisha Aliwa (FIVB Level 1) from KDF, who has coached senior men's volleyball.

The Assistant Coach position has attracted a diverse set of candidates, including both male and female coaches:
- Marvin Tuikong (FIVB Level 2) from RDC, specializing in senior men's Division 2.
- Samuel Mugata (FIVB Level 2) from Vihiga, with experience in both men’s and women’s volleyball.
- David Muthui (FIVB Level 2) from KCB, who is applying for the Senior Women’s Assistant Coach position.
- Margaret Indakala (FIVB Level 1).
- Joseph Barasa (FIVB Level 2) from Prisons, specializing in senior women’s volleyball.
- Esther Chepkosgei (FIVB Level 2) from KPC, applying for the Assistant Coach position with the senior women’s team.
- Vernon Khayinga (FIVB Level 2) from Posta Bank, specializing in senior women’s volleyball.
- Esther Ouna (FIVB Level 1).
- Jackline Barasa (FIVB Level 1) from KDF, applying for the senior women’s Head Coach position.

The role of Physical Trainer is also a critical component of the Malkia Strikers technical bench, with the following candidates having expressed interest:
- Tom Lagat
- Sally Wanjala (FIVB Level 2) from Nairobi Prisons.
- Jeremiah Mukopi (FIVB Level 2) from DCI.
- Emma Kondo (FIVB Level 2).
- Azenga Mavisi (FIVB Level 2) from Prisons, applying for the Assistant Coach position.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to the interview process on February 15, 2025, with the Kenya Volleyball Federation promising  to ensure that the most qualified individuals are selected to fill these crucial roles and contribute to the development and success of the Malkia Strikers team.
