KSSSA Nationals: Laiser Hill through to semis

Kennedy Owino of Laiser Hills High in action against Passenga High. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Laiser.

Laiser Hill are the first team through to the boys football semi final after winning their second match on the trot at the KSSSA National Finals.

Kennedy Mwangi's brace saw the side from the Metropolitan Region race into a 2-0 lead against Aberdare Region's Passenga before James Kinyanjui struck the consolation goal as the game ended 2-1, a result that sees Laiser garner six points off two successive wins as they sit atop the Pool B log.

Mau Region's Simotwo recovered from their 0-4 mauling against Laiser Hill to stage a spectacular comeback against the Coast Region's Waa.

Waa started this match with urgency, taking a 2-0 lead into the breather through goals from Rashid Kigwe and Zachary Mwakasuka and it seemed as though they were coasting until Simotwo's second half rally saw them cut the deficit, scoring twice through late goals from Shadrack Kimutai and Emmanuel Kibet as the game ended 2-2.

Nginda and Kobala are through to the girls’ semi final after winning their second sucessive Pool B fixtures. Nginda followed up their opening 4-1 win over Kikima with a 2-1 win over Eburu.

Irene Amutabi and Rachel Mwende scored for Nginda with Pamela Simiyu scoring Eburu's consolation.

Kobala built on Tuesday's 2-0 win over Eburu with a 2-1 win over Kikima to reach the last four.
