Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) are the new FIBA Zone 5 Club champions after crushing Equity Hawks 71-35 in a one sided, all Kenyan title decider at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Tuesday 23 November 2021.

It was finely poised after the opening quarter, KPA just shading it 19-17 before outscoring the Kenyan champions 16-10 in the second quarter to take a 35-27 lead into half time.

KPA’s endurance showed in the last two quarters, outlasting Equity 12-2 and 24-6 to run off with the result as they reclaimed the title that they last held in 2017.

Claire Lamunu, Natalie Mwangale and Victoria Reynolds were crucial to KPA’s dominant display in this encounter.

Lamunu and Mwangale contribute 19 and 18 points respectively with Reynolds contributing 11 points.

Betty Kananu (13 points) and Melissa Otieno (7 points) were Equity’s top performers.
