Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) sides will be the only premier league teams in action this weekend in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) premier league.
Both the men and women's teams have not featured in the league since January as they were out on continental assignments before requesting for postponement of their matches sighting management issues.
Men's league holders face University of Nairobi (UoN) Terror on Saturday 18 March before taking on Nairobi City Thunder on Sunday while their women's side will play UoN Dynamites and Kisumu Lakeside.
The men's side, under coach Sammy Kiki, have lost just one match. The defending champions have played 13 matches so far, losing only once, early on in the first leg to varsity side Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks.
The tactician says the long break is likely to affect their match fitness but remains confident that they will deliver and fight to finish the regular league top of the table.
Kiki maintains that they will build some momentum in this weekend's matches then ride on that in the remaining games as the dockers play catch up. A majority of the other teams are left with less than three matches to the conclusion of the regular season.
"We find a rhythm then ride as we work on getting better ahead of the playoffs. There might be some fixture congestion as we are behind other teams but we will work around it and ensure we finish the regular season top of the table," Kiki added.
