Prisons Kenya, the reigning national champions, defeated Morocco's Faith Union Sports in straight sets of 3-0 (28-26, 25-23, 25-20) to secure a slot in the quarterfinals.

Prisons Kenya and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) on Saturday secured their spots in the men’s Africa Volleyball Club Championships after defeating Faith Union Sports Club and AS INJS (Ivory Coast), respectively, in Cairo Egypt.

Unfortunately, it was an early exit for Equity, who will now have to fight for classification spots after being eliminated by Cameroon’s Port Autoname De Douala in straight sets.

Having finished in 6th place last year in Tunisia, KPA are aiming for a possible breakthrough to the semifinals. Drawn in Pool D, KPA won all their group matches to set up a clash with INJS in the round of 16, a match they comfortably won to book a spot in the quarters.

In other matches, hosts Al Ahly of Egypt defeated VC Espoir (COD) 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-12).
