Athletics Kenya has announced the dates for the Olympic trials, inviting over 150 athletes to the selection event at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi on June 14th and 15th.
As a leading nation in Olympic track and field events, Kenya is expected to send a formidable team to the Paris Olympics and among the invitees is 1500m defending champion Faith Kipyegon who is out to defend her title in Paris.

In a statement on Thursday, Athletics Kenya announced that , “The federation has prepared a list of athletes who have met the invitation criteria based on the 2024 World Athletics Ranking and the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) anti-doping requirement for federations under category ‘A’ of having undergone at least one out-of-competition test from 4th September, 2023 to 3rd May, 2024.

Additionally, all invited athletes will be required to collect their running numbers in PERSON on Thursday, 13th June 2024 at the Nyayo National Stadium starting from 9am to 6pm.” The statement read.
