Kipchoge, KIpyegon crown 2022 SOYA winners

World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge and Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Chepng'etich Kipyegon were crowned 2022 Sportpersons of the Year at the SOYA Awards

World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge and Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Chepng'etich Kipyegon were crowned 2022 Sportspersons of the Year at the SOYA Awards on Friday 20 January 2023 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

Kipchoge won the men’s accolade ahead of 100m African and Commonwealth Games champion Ferdinand Omanyala and 800m World and Olympic champion over 800m, Emmanuel Korir.

Kipyegon retained the women’s title ahead of tennis star Angela Okutoyi and Commonwealth 5000m champion Beatrice Chebet.
