Kimanzi, Muhiddin among certified CAF A Instructors
The fifteen local coaches were validated by the continental body following a ten-day long training conducted by veteran CAF instructor Abraham Mebratu back in March.
Former Harambee Stars head coaches Francis Kimanzi and Twahir Muhidin are among the high ranking local tacticians who have been certified as Confederation of African Football (CAF) A coaching instructors.
In a letter addressed to the Football Kenya Federation head of technical department Michael Amenga, CAF revealed the names of local coaches who will be tasked with training their counterparts in the sanctioned courses.
The fifteen local coaches were validated by the continental body following a ten-day long training conducted by veteran CAF instructor Abraham Mebratu back in March.
Other coaches who have passed the test of handling the A coaching course students are former Posta Rangers head coach Salim Ali and former Tusker assistant coach Leonard Odipo.
Out of the four tacticians ratified to handle the CAF A course, only Muhiddin is active at club level as the former Stars assistant gaffer is the current boss at Bandari.
KCB coach Zedekiah Otieno, his Kariobangi Sharks counterpart William Muluya and former Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi are among the five trainers who will be able to teach CAF B students.
Muluya is an Harambee Stars assistant coach while Okumbi is the national U20 team coach as well as a technical director at Division One side Rainbow FC.
Others in the B category are former Stars captain and centre back Musa Otieno and former Kisumu All Stars boss George Ondula.
National under 18 girl's team coach Beldine Odemba and Jackline Juma are in the list of six coaches who can oversee a CAF C course.
The two are the only women who have been certified as CAF instructors.
Former Stars assistant coach Leonard Saleh, Fred Serenge, Francis Ojilo and George Mwangi are the other CAF C course trainers.
