Kibera Queens, Vihiga Assasins promoted to Premier League

Assassins were true to their name on the final day of the season wiping the floor with Kimathi Lionesses 23-0 to move clear atop of Zone B table.

Kibera Soccer Queens and the Vihiga based Soccer Assassins have sailed to the Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League after emerging victorious in the Division One Zone A and B respectively.

Assassins were true to their name on the final day of the season wiping the floor with Kimathi Lionesses 23-0 to move clear atop of Zone B table.

Valerie Nekesa put the ball into the net eleven times with Mideva Charity scoring nine times as Assassins ran over the claw-less Lionesses.

Brenda Awuor joined the scoring party, kissing the back of the Lionesses goal three times.

In other matches played in the final day of the campaign, Gideon Starlets lost 1-0 to Kisped Queens.

Dorothy Ayuga settled the contest after finding the back of the net in the eighth minute of the Zone B match.

Kolwa Queens beat Royal Starlets 2-1 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Kolwa got their goals through; Line Apiyo and Florence Ogola with Phoebe Mwangale netting the consolation for Royal.

Eldoret Falcons sealed the term in style after flooring Solasa Stima 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Mildred Simiyu.

 

Bungoma Queens who finished second in Zone B will take on Uweza in the playoff to determine which team will run away with the other available promotion slot.

The playoff is set to be tentatively held in Nakuru on August 5 or 6.
