KHU to host tournament for Westgate victims
The Kenya Hockey Union will this weekend host the “Hockey for Westgate Victims Festival” to raise funds that will go towards the victims of the Terrorists attack witnessed two weeks ago.The tournament will be held between 5th and 6th October at the City Park stadium.
According to the Kenya Hockey Union officials , The format will be 7 a side and the duration of game will be 7.5 minutes each half and straight change over, but this might change depending on the number of teams registered.
Each team will be allowed to register only 10 players in addition to the management elements. The entry fee is Kshs.5000.00 per team. Total income, less the administrative expenses will be donated to Kenya Red cross.
“Our humble appeal is to all players, clubs, teams, schools, colleges etc. to come out in large numbers to show support and solidarity with all those who were affected during the Westgate saga.”KHU says.
