KHF awards walkovers after Makueni Bees withdraws from League

Ulinzi, Desert Scorpion, Spartan, UOE Pipers and Thika will each get 2 points and 15 goals from the abandoned fixtures against Makueni Bees

The Kenya Handball Federation has decided to award teams walkovers from the remaining fixtures against Makueni Bees after the latter withdrew from the remainder of the league.

With the new development, Ulinzi Men’s Handball team will gain 2 points and 15 goals and moves joint top of the Kenya Handball Federation League with NCPB on 28 points from 14 matches though NCPB maintains first position due to their superior goal difference.

The Kenya Handball Federation League’s and competitions technical arm decision headed by Mr.Charles Omondi explained the decision.

“Makueni Bees had indicated their inability to honour most   of their remaining matches and the only honourable thing to do is to award walk overs to their remaining fixtures to maintain the smooth running of our fixtures. It is our desire and hope that they will be able to continue next season because the more teams we have from outside Nairobi the better it is for the growth of the game of handball, ”  said Omondi.
