Uganda’s Ronald Rugumayo is second on the leaderboard with -6 after 54 holes

The Kenyan challenge at the Uganda Open faded as Zimbabwe’s Robson Chinhoi pulled further away, placing victory in his palm heading into today’s final round.

Chinhoi shot a brilliant six under 66 for -11 gross score to leave the chasing pack gasping at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort club.

Uganda’s Ronald Rugumayo is second on the leaderboard with -6 after 54 holes.

The Kenyan contingent led by Greg Snow who shot a modest one under 70 on Friday to move into third will have to dig deep on Saturday to prevent Chinhoi from bagging the title he last won in 2019.

With Simon Ngige discovering form at the right time following Friday’s five under 67 round, a podium finish still seems realistic as the Kenyans continue to chase glory in Uganda.
