Kenya to name volleyball squad for World Championships
The Kenya women volleyball team technical bench is expected to name Kenya's team that will start preparations ahead of the World Championships set to be held in Japan
The Kenya national women volleyball team technical bench will this weekend assemble Kenya’s squad that is to start training on the first week of June ahead of the forthcoming World Championships to be held in Japan later this year.
The squad is expected to be unveiled after this weekend’s AMACO International tournament set to be held in Eldoret starting Friday.
Kenya has been drawn alongside former Olympic champions Brazil, European Champions Serbia, Kazakhstan, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Kenya qualified for the World Championships in Japan after finishing second during the Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.
Cameroon, who emerged as Africa champions have been drawn in a tough Pool A that also features hosts Japan, Netherlands, Argentina, Germany and Mexico.
POOL A: Japan, Netherlands, Germany, Argentina, Cameroon, Mexico
POOL B: China, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Canada, Cuba
POOL C: United States, Russia, Korea, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Trinidad and Tobago
POOL D : Brazil, Serbia, Kenya, Kazakhstan , Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic
