The team registered its third win with a 167 run thrashing of minnows Lesotho by 167 runs on Monday 21 November 2022.

Kenya are placed at the top spot in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier A points table with 3 wins so far in the group stage. The team has 8 points in the ongoing competition in Kigali, Rwanda.

Collins Obuya is the top run-scorer for Kenya with 131 runs at a strike rate of 201. He has struck 11 sixes and 9 fours. RN Patel has also made 108 runs at a strike rate of 163. 

PK Langat has been the best bowler for Kenya and has picked up 8 wickets while bowling at an average of 3 and an economy rate of 4.00.

Prolific batsmen Rushab Patel and Nelson Odhiambo each smashed half a century after Sukhdeep Singh and Rushab Patel had combined for 82 runs, giving Kenya a bright start.

It was Kenya’s third win in a row in the eight-team competition being played in a round robin format.

The top two teams from this contest  as well as the “B” qualifiers will progress to the regional contest to face Namibia, Uganda and Zimbabwe are awaiting in the quest to qualify for the T20 World Cup to be co hosted by the United States and the West Indies in 2024.
