Kenya's 800m hopes stay alive as quartet reaches semifinals in Oregon

Wycliffe Kinyamal, Noah Kibet, Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Emmanuel Korir all made it through from their heats.

Kenyan medal hopes in the men’s 800m are still alive after all four entrants reached the semifinals at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday 21 July 2022.

Wycliffe Kinyamal, Noah Kibet, Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Emmanuel Korir all made it through from their heats.

KInyamal was second in heat 6 in a time of 1 minute 45.08 while Wanyonyi timed 1:46.45 as he finished third in heat 3. Kibet barely made it out of heat 5 after clocking 1:45.41 for fifth place to reach the semis as Olympic champion Korir won his heat in a slow time of 1:49.05.
