The Prisons men’s team overcame a one-set deficit coming from behind to defeat GSU 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19)
Kenya Prisons, the defending champions in men’s volleyball, have successfully retained their crown after defeating long-time rivals GSU in a thrilling encounter on Saturday at Kasarani, Nairobi.
The victory on Saturday completed a double playoff triumph, as they had also beaten GSU 3-0 on Friday in the opener of the best-of-three series.
While the men’s team celebrated their triumph, the women’s team faced defeat at the hands of defending champions KCB. After a sluggish performance on Friday, KCB rallied to push the match to a tiebreaker on Sunday, where the winner will take the title home.

In another match, Kenya Ports Authority upset Kenya Defence Forces with a 3-2 victory (25-16, 21-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-10) in an exciting five-set thriller.
Meanwhile, Kenya Pipeline secured a bronze medal by defeating the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-22, in the third-place playoff.
