Kenya Prisons Cross Country Championship: Muneria, Wanjiru emerge victorious

Muneria won a third consecutive men's title with a dominant display of running

Charles Muneria and Rosemary Wanjiru Monica emerged victorious at the Kenya Prisons Cross Country Championship held on Saturday 16 January 2021 at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

Muneria came into the men’s 10km race as a two time defending champion and raced to his third consecutive title, breasting the tape in 30 minutes 00.15 seconds, 42.48 seconds clear of second placed Boaz Kiprugut who clocked 30 minutes 42.63 seconds with Wilfred Kimitei coming home third in 30 minutes 44.36 seconds.

 Wanjiru won the women’s 10km race in a time of 33:43.53 with Lilian Kasait finishing second in 34:17.01 and Gladys Jerono timing 35:07:24 for a third place finish.
