Kenya Prisons confirm travel time, eye crown in Tunisia

 Five time Africa champions Kenya Prisons women volleyball team have confirmed  their departure for Tunisia ahead of the 2017 edition of the women club championships that start on Thursday.

Prisons departure plans had earlier been thrown into a state of doubt with  claims of  limited funds from the team sponsors.

However things turned positive for the team after their visit for a send off  lunch date with the Mrs. Rachel Ruto at the  Deputy President's residence in Karen on Monday.

The team of 12 players and five officials will depart Nairobi on Tuesday at 6:00PM for  Tunisia  in their quest for a 6th African title.

Team's head coach David Lunga'ho  has already landed in Tunisia in time for the technical meeting expected to happen on Wednesday.

Kenya Prisons have won the African title 5 times but are yet to find a winning form since losing their national title to Kenya Pipeline in 2014.

The team will be captained by experienced  international Evelyne Makuto. Also part of the traveling team is long serving national team player Brackcides Khadambi and  one of Africa's best setter Jane Wacu.

Kenya P[pipeline are the other Kenyan representatives at this year's competition.
