Kenya Police FC will now face Egyptian giants Zamalek in the next round.
Kenya’s domestic cup champions, Kenya Police FC, have advanced to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup following their 1-0 victory against Ethiopia Coffee in Addis Ababa on Sunday afternoon at the Abebe Bikila Stadium.
After a goalless draw in the first leg in Nairobi, Police needed any kind of win to progress, and they delivered with Toha Rashid’s first-half goal securing the crucial triumph.
Kenya Police FC will now face Egyptian giants Zamalek in the next round.
Head Coach Antony Kimani is set to rely on a potent attacking trio of Clinton Kinanga, Francis Kahata, and goal scorer Toha Rashid as they prepare to take on one of Africa’s most successful teams, Zamalek.
"We will now restrategize for the next game; we have what it takes to achieve major honors," Kimani said.
Speaking after the victory, the club's Executive Chairman, SAIG Nyale Munga, praised the team for their achievement and emphasized their determination to make history. "The squad is performing exceptionally well, and our focus on finishing strong is key; African glory is within our reach," Nyale stated.
