Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions, Kenya Pipeline, continue their unbeaten run in the local league, picking their sixth victory in as many matches on Saturday June 17.
Up against Post Bank on Saturday, the Paul Gitau-led oil merchants gave another dominant show of champions to see the bankers off in straight sets (25-08,25-12,25-14) at Nyayo Stadium.
The win increased the side's tally to 18 points from six matches, continuing their unbeaten record ahead of a match against KCB on Sunday.
Pipeline's win comes on the back of a 3-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-20, 25-14) against rivals and former champions Prisons Kenya in a Friday thriller played at the same venue.
Prisons had a strong start in the match leading for the better part of the match at 6-10, 10-13, 12-15 to tie the scores at 16 and go ahead for the first set win.
The wardresses continued their strong showing, picking the second set by a commanding ten points but could not replicate that in the next two sets to cause an upset.
In other matches played in the fourth leg of the women's league, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) fell to Nairobi Water by straight sets 3-0 ( 25-18, 25-18, 25-17) on Saturday as Kenya Army benefited from a walkover from the no-show Vihiga Women’s team.
The Army women, however, went down 3-0 ( 15-25, 12-25, 21-25) in the hands of former champions Prisons on Saturday.
