Kenya Kabaddi team duped and left stranded at JKIA

After spending the night at Talanta Plaza, the team was told to head to the airport for their flight at 6.00 PM hours, only to find that no tickets had been booked for them.

Kenya’s Kabaddi team remained stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International after being misled by ministry officials regarding their travel plans for the Men’s beach World Cup in Iran. After spending the night at Talanta Plaza, the team was told to head to the airport for their flight at 6.00 PM hours, only to find that no tickets had been booked for them.

“We left Talanta Plaza with the assurance that our tickets were reserved and our flight was scheduled for 6.00PM. Later, we learned that the flight had been rescheduled to 4.00 PM, so we all rushed to JKIA for the 2.00PM check-in,” said one player.

“Upon arrival, we discovered that only the government officials’ tickets had been booked. However, the officials were not at the airport and refused to travel without the players. Now, we’re stuck at the airport with no communication from the ministry or any other authority. It’s been nearly five hours and we still have no updates on our travel status.”
