Kenya hold nerves to beat Ghana in world league

The Kenya women hockey team will only need a win of any margin against Tanzania on Sunday to book a place in the next stage of the world Hockey league in Uruguay.

The Kenya team on Saturday defeated Ghana 1-0 in a tight encounter with Jackie Jow scoring the all-important decider in the first period from a well-executed short corner.

With the win over Ghana, Kenya have three points same as the Ghanaians who defeated Tanzania 17-0 on Friday in the opening match of the competition.

Only three women teams are taking part in the hockey league with the top team expected to win the ticket to travel to Uruguay for the next stage of the competition.

The second round will be held between 28th February to 8th March in Montevideo Uruguay.
